WATCH IN THE FORM OF A SCARAB

Pocket watch in the form of a scarab in gold, enamel, diamond-set and rubies-set from ca. 1890.

Pocket watch in the form of a scarab in gold, enamel, diamond-set and rubies-set. The wings and the head of the scarab are covered with translucent red enamel over engine turning centered with black opaque enamel set with rose-cut diamonds. Rubies are used to represent the eyes of the animal.

The concealed dial is revealed by a push-button on the bottom of the wings. The watch is keyless and has a cylinder movement. The dial is in white enamel with blued steel hands.
