A PEASANT WOMAN WITH HER CHICKENS BY HENRY PLÉ

Description : Marble sculpture by the French artist Henri Plé (1853 – 1922). The sculpture depicts a peasant woman carrying wheat in a cloth bag. The peasant woman’s attention is drawn to the hen at her feet, who signals her presence. The hen and the peasant are accompanied by several small chicks. There are also some chicks hidden in the bag where there is wheat.
